Havana, January 8 (PL) - In a game sealed the day before by rains, the Cazadores de Artemisa knocked out Industriales 11-1 today in the beginning of one of the semifinal duels of the Cuban Winter Baseball League.

The team led by former Cuba team pitcher, Yuliesky González, completed the task started on Sunday before the storm stopped the actions, and with an attack of 12 hits -including five doubles and a triple- crushed the capital's lions by mercy in seven chapters.

Remberto Barreto - the leader in games won in the qualifying stage - could not stop the hosts, who were entrenched in the 26 de Julio stadium and scored five runs in the first third of the game to drive him off the mound and achieve a sufficient advantage for the victory.

Rescuers Rafael Perdomo, Marcos Ortega and Orisbel Borges were also unable to suffocate their opponents who demonstrated their power early on.

Left-hander Geonel Gutiérrez pitched four innings on Sunday, which were not enough for him to get the win, a merit that went to Israel Sánchez after he hung three rings on the board.
