Havana, August 2 (RHC)-- Glories of the Cuban sports movement met this Tuesday at the Fidel Castro Ruz Center, located in the capital's Vedado neighborhood. The large group of athletes, who with their sporting feats signed pages of glory for Cuba, received a tour of the different rooms of the institution and recalled anecdotes experienced with the eternal leader of the Cuban Revolution.

During their stay, the visitors were able to appreciate passages of Fidel's life, documents and objects that belonged to him, as well as recognitions that were granted to him by other nations. Afterwards, in a pleasant and colloquial dialogue, each of those present narrated personal moments with the Commander in Chief.

The charismatic pitcher of the capital's baseball teams, Lázaro de la Torre, made a statement to Radio Habana Cuba about what he experienced during the visit:  "I'm still excited about this; I'm a recalcitrant Fidelista, that's no secret to anyone.  I'm going to bring my students to see these things".

The athletes walked through the different areas of the building, which has within its walls a valuable load for the history of the Caribbean and universal island, accompanied by an impressive design and technology.

The tour ended in the "Fidel is Fidel" room, where more than one of those present could be seen visibly moved by the spiritual content of the moment, because they carry in their memories what they lived with the Greatest Athlete, that Commander that belongs to all, but that in turn they treasure for themselves, along with personal experiences that bring them even closer to the human being, to their Fidel.
