The Dominican Republic and Cuba teams clash on Tuesday at the Cibao Stadium, in the first of two friendly matches scheduled before the start of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Santo Domingo, November 15 (PL) -- The Dominican Republic and Cuba teams clash on Tuesday at the Cibao Stadium, in the first of two friendly matches scheduled before the start of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

For both teams, these matches will allow them to assess their strengths ahead of their upcoming matches in the CONCACAF Nations League, during which the islanders will close their participation with matches against Barbados on March 23, 2023 and Guadeloupe on March 26, 2023, and the home team against French Guiana on March 24 and Belize on March 27.

The Cubans, who arrived in the country last Sunday, present a roster with new faces after last-minute readjustments in response to the request of Guatemalan teams in need of having players from the island in key matches of their national championships.

The visitors will have on the field goalkeepers Sandy Sánchez and Raico Arozarena, while the backline will be defended by Modesto Méndez, Osniel Ramos, Carlos Vázquez, Dariel Morejón, Yosel Piedra, Jassael Herrera, Mario Peñalber and Greibel Palma.

Rolando Abreu, Arichel Hernández, Christian Flores, Dairon Reyes, Roberney Caballero and Luis Paradela were called as midfielders and the forwards will be Maikel Reyes, Daniel Díaz and Willian Pozo.

A few hours ago, young players Carlos Denilson Milanés and Kevin Martin were called up to the team to replace the aforementioned players.

Likewise, for the Quisqueyanos, goalkeepers Alessandro Baroni and Omry Bello will start; in the defense will be Luis Ismael Diaz, Brian Lopez, Yoan Melo, Carlos Rossell, Jackson Tineo and Ernesto Trinidad.

The midfielders will be Daniel Flores, Alexander Jiménez, Jean Carlos López, Robert Rosado and Ronaldo Vásquez, while the forwards will be Edison Azcona, Erick Paniagua, Edarlyn Reyes, Dorny Romero and Jonathan Faña.

The second match between the two teams will take place on Friday, the 18th, in San Cristobal province.
