Santo Domingo, October 12 (JIT) - The Cuban national team secured its ticket to the super round of the Ankara 2023 WBSC Baseball5 Youth World Cup.

The Antilleans swept host Turkey two sets to zero. The first set was a close one, but they managed to win with a score of six runs to four.
Then, the team led by Sadian Hernandez loosened the tension and returned to be aggressive on court one of the Yenimahalle Sports Complex, in the Turkish capital.
By then, the offense worked better, to the point of producing 10 runs without allowing any, which gave the victory by the knockout rule.

Later they disposed of Tunisia with a 2-0 sweep: a comfortable first set (8x0) and a more disputed second (9x6).

With these results, Cuba reached four straight shutouts, showing a 10-run difference in four of the eight sets played. This performance will place Cuba among the first three places of the A key.
The next match will take place this Thursday against one of the weakest rivals of the tournament, Malaysia, which has not won so far. If they win, the Caribbeans will lead their group.
