Elite League of Cuban Baseball enters its second half

Havana, December 2 (RHC)-- The second half of the regular schedule begins today at 6:30 p.m. in the II Elite Cuban Baseball League.

At the Victoria de Girón stadium in the western province of Matanzas, the Cocodrilos will host the Industriales Leones.

Meanwhile, at the José Antonio Huelga stadium, the Gallos espirituanos will host the Leñadores de Las Tunas.

Finally, the Avispas santiagueras will try to improve their current position when they host the Cazadores de Artemisa at their Guillermón Moncada Park.

The standings show the Leones at the top of the table with 12 wins and eight losses. They are followed by Cocodrilos and Gallos (11-9), tied in second and third place, with a one-game difference.

In fourth and fifth place, with the same win-loss record, are Leñadores and Cazadores (10-10), two games apart. Meanwhile, the Wasps close the table with six wins and 14 losses, six games away from the top.

As for the individual players, Dennis Laza leads the hitters (429 AVE), Rafael Viñales leads in homers and RBI (6 HR, 20 CI). In the pitching, Erlis Casanova continues to have an excellent season and keeps his average of clean runs immaculate (0.00 PCL).

The schedule enters its decisive stage for the qualification. The first four places of the qualifying stage will reach the postseason, where they will fight for the title of the Cuban winter tournament.
