Santo Domingo, March 18 (PL) - The Cuban baseball team, which is participating in the U-15 Pan American Championship in the Dominican Republic, will have its third game this Monday against the Venezuelan national team.

The day before, Cuba lost six runs by five to Puerto Rico in a game that was decided in extra inning.

The event, which is being held in Boca Chica, some 35 kilometers from this capital, will give five berths for the World Cup in this category.

The Cuban team is in Group B, which also includes Peru, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Guatemala and Nicaragua, while Group A includes Brazil, Argentina, Panama, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, the Cubans will play against Guatemala and on Wednesday against Nicaragua, according to the official schedule of the tournament.

The top three teams in each group will qualify to the final round, which will take place on Thursday 21 at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Cuba reaches the third day of competition with one win and one loss. On Saturday it defeated Peru 13 runs to two in its debut in the Pan American Under 15 Baseball Championship.
