
Caio Barone
Havana, July 16 (RHC) - Spanish club Celta de Vigo announced today the signing of Brazilian goalkeeper Caio Barone, who signed a three-year contract with the Galician soccer club.
Barone, just 19 years old and standing at 1.96 meters tall, will join the team's affiliate, Celta Fortuna, which plays in the third division, in the coming days.
With an Italian passport, the goalkeeper was twice champion of the Copa Libertadores U-20 with Flamengo in his native country, with which he also won the Intercontinental Cup in the same category.
The goalkeeper is expected to compete for the starting position on the team to gain experience, with the goal of moving up to the first team in the medium term.
With Brazil, he was part of the U-17 national team that won the South American championship in 2023, and he also received interest from Portugal's Porto and Italy's Venezia and Inter Milan before deciding on Celta.
