Caracas, March 11 (RHC) – The Network of Intellectuals, Artists, and Social Movements in Defense of Humanity expressed its solidarity with the people and the Government of Venezuela at a time of media war and terrorism against that Latin American nation.

In a statement, the organization says that while promoting full spectrum wars in several countries of Latin America, U.S. government agencies like the Pentagon and the CIA are intensifying open and clandestine actions against constitutional and legitimate governments in the region.

The Network in Defense of Humanity said that the script for a U.S.-made coup d’état against Venezuela features “successive stages of intoxication, misinformation and distortion through media under monopoly control.” This, they charge, is combined with unilateral and extraterritorial actions of psychological coercion and other violent and seditious actions via the digital networks of large corporations, political parties and conservative right-wing elements.

NGO's, foundations, religious cults, organized crime and paramilitary groups, and transnational economic groups are all being utilized against Venezuela, the Network says, under an appearance of legitimacy provided by regional bodies like the Organization of American States.

The Network of Intellectuals and Artists in Defense of Humanity is a movement of thought and action that opposes domination in its different forms. It has as historical background the June 1935 Congress of Writers held at the Palais de la Mutualité, in Paris, and the establishment then of the International Alliance of Writers for Defense of Culture.
