La Paz, May 8 (RHC)-- Bolivian President Luis Arce recognized the contributions of Vice President David Choquehuanca in the struggle to build a new country.  The president congratulated the vice president on his birthday on Twitter and praised his daily efforts in favor of the people, his important role in the re-foundation of Bolivia and his drive for the creation of a Plurinational State.

Social networks and the local press published other messages of congratulations and admiration "for Choquehuanca's commitment to the homeland" -- born on a day like today in 1961 in the community of Cota Cota Baja, department of La Paz.  Now the country's vice president, who moved to the city to continue his higher education, was later a trade union leader until he became the Andean nation's foreign minister under Evo Morales in 2006.

According to official assessments, Bolivian foreign relations under his command were marked by Latin American integration efforts and strong ties with most of the continent's governments.
