Bogota, July 21 (RHC)-- After Tuesday's mobilizations on the occasion of Colombia's Independence Day, the National Strike Committee (CNP) urged workers, students and social organizations and movements to another day of struggle this Wednesday to present to Congress ten legislative proposals that include various popular demands.

The president of the Central Unitaria de Trabajadores (CUT), Federico Maltés, called to continue the peaceful mobilizations to file before the Legislative the ten bills, as well as to oppose the neoliberal policy and the fascist projection of the Government of President Iván Duque.

According to local media, these documents include the main demands of those who participated in the National Strike initiated last April 28 and proposals of the emergency list presented to the Government in 2020, and on which the Government did not want to negotiate.

Regarding Tuesday's mobilizations, Maltés said that they were carried out peacefully and with wide participation in cities and departments all over the country.  He also emphasized that they included cultural events, which he catalogued as another way of expressing the indignation of the Colombian popular sectors.
