Moscow, October 23 (RHC)-- The foreign ministers of Bolivia and Russia, Rogelio Mayta and Serguei Lavrov, respectively, demanded on Friday the immediate cessation of interference by the United States and other nations in the internal affairs of Latin American countries, including Cuba and Venezuela, as well as the removal of unilateral restrictive measures applied against them.

During a press conference at the end of a meeting in the Russian capital, both diplomats declared inadmissible the actions of the U.S. government against these sovereign nations.  They emphasized that these actions seek to undermine their political systems, governance and development strategies.  They also demanded an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the White House against Cuba.

According to the media, during their meeting in Moscow, the diplomatic representatives of Bolivia and Russia discussed issues of mutual interest such as energy, support in technology and health, and others that can strengthen bilateral relations.  In this regard, Lavrov told the press that Russia considers Bolivia one of its priority partners in the Latin American and Caribbean region.

Mayta's visit to Moscow includes a wreath laying at the eternal fire of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and a lecture at the Russian Peoples' Friendship University.  In addition, he will meet with representatives of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), in charge of the commercialization of the Sputnik V vaccine, which is used in the immunization campaign against Covid-19 in the South American nation.

The agenda includes a meeting with authorities of the State Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom), which is building the nuclear reactor of the Center for Research and Development of Nuclear Technology (CIDNTN) in Bolivia.
