Havana, Feb 28 (RHC) The way to strengthen military cooperation was one of the topics discussed by a Russian delegation visiting Algiers and the army chiefs of that country, an official source reported today.

Official media also announced that Algerian President Abdelmajid Tobboune, who is scheduled to visit Russia next May, received the Russian official.

The subject, together with the state of military collaboration, was discussed by the secretary of the Security Council of the Slavic country, Nicholai Patrushev, and the chief of the Algerian Army General Staff, General Said Chanegriha.

This visit represents for us the expression of the firm and frank will of the two countries to further strengthen the historical and strategic partnership that characterizes the bilateral relations, particularly in the military sphere, the Algerian general said.

According to the Algerian Defense Ministry statement, Moscow is working "on strengthening relations" between the two states.

The tone of the Algerian communiqué is a reflection of the cooperation between the two states which, in terms of commercial exchange, reached three billion dollars last year, despite the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on international relations. (Source: Prensa Latina).
