Caracas, June 11 (RHC/Prensa Latina)-- Venezuela's Minister of Foreign Affairs Yván Gil has affirmed that the United States could not and never will be able to defeat his country.

In a tweet issued Saturday night, the head of Venezuelan diplomacy -- in response to statements made by former U.S. President Donald Trump at a campaign rally -- said Venezuela won’t be beaten.

“He confesses that his intention was to seize Venezuelan oil, and all the damage that the United States has done to our people, with the support of its lackeys here, has had a single objective: to steal our resources,” said the Bolivarian foreign minister.

“They could not beat us, and they will never be able to.  We will always win!” he emphasized.

Trump, the ultra-right wing Republican presidential candidate, commented yesterday in a speech in North Carolina that when he left the White House, Venezuela was, in his words, "about to collapse.”  “We would have taken it over, and we would have gotten all that oil.  But now we’re buying it from Venezuela, making a dictator rich,” he said.
