Book of Condolences Opens in Havana for Death of Nicaraguan Priest Miguel D'Escoto

Havana, June 12 (RHC)-- A book of condolences was opened Monday in Havana for the death of Nicaraguan politician, diplomat and Catholic priest Miguel D’Escoto.

Cubans and foreign visitors can sign the book until Tuesday at the Nicaraguan Embassy. 

A longtime leader within the Sandinista National Liberation Front, the FSLN, Miguel D'Escoto was 84 years old.  He served as foreign minister of Nicaragua from 1979–1990.  He was also the president of the United Nations General Assembly from 2008 to 2009.
