Cuban Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas Meets with Russian Vice President

Moscow, September 27 (RHC-Granma)-- At the end of his visit to Moscow, Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Economy and Planning, met Tuesday morning with Arkadi Dvorkovich, Vice President of the Russian Federation.

In a cordial atmosphere, characteristic of the excellent state of relations between Cuba and Russia, the two parties exchanged views on the progress of the major projects in the field of energy. New areas of cooperation were also identified in the context of the effective participation of the Russian Federation in Cuba's Economic and Social Development Plan.

Cabrisas also held a meeting with Russian Federation Emergency Situations, Minister Vladimir Puchkov, who informed the Cuban leader of the Russian Government's decision to send 1,200 tons of humanitarian aid following the passage of Hurricane Irma across the country.

He also met with the Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology, Serguei Donskoi, with whom he discussed the next steps in the collaboration against the drought that has been affecting the central and eastern part of Cuba in recent years. Cabrisas informed the Russian Minister about the approval in the National Assembly of the Popular Power for the 'Tarea Vida' or Life Task.

Cabrisas visited Russia from 16 to 26 September to participate in the work and plenary session of the Intergovernmental Commission for economic-trade and scientific-technical collaboration.
