Havana, February 29 (RHC) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla denounced as interfering the suspension of remittances to the island through Western Union from all countries except the United States.

The Foreign Minister assured on Twitter that the new regulation violates the sovereignty of third states and reinforces the extraterritorial component of Washington's inhumane policy against the Cuban nation.

Rodríguez Parrilla also said that the Trump Administration's measure against Western Union attacks Cuban families even more under the cynical pretext that it is trying to help the Cuban people.

"The hypocrisy of the U.S. government, which is escalating an atrocious economic war against Cuba, knows no bounds," he wrote.

Last Wednesday, the money remittance company suspended the financial transfers to Cuba, except for those sent from the United States, another action within the escalation of sanctions by Donald Trump's administration.

According to Granma newspaper, this is the 191st measure that the current U.S. government imposes on Havana with the aim of provoking discouragement and despair among Cubans, so that ultimately they hold the revolutionary authorities responsible for the difficulties they have to endure.
