President of Cuba meets the King of Lesotho

Havana, March 3 (RHC)--The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, welcomed this Monday in Havana the King of Lesotho, Letsie III, who is making an official visit to the island.

During the meeting, both parties exchanged on the good state of bilateral relations. They reiterated the will to continue developing and expanding the political dialogue, as well as the cooperation in the areas of Health, Education, and Sports.

The Cuban leader thanked the support of the Kingdom of Lesotho in the struggle for the lifting of the U.S. government blockade against the Cuban people and ratified the willingness to continue strengthening the historic friendship ties between the two countries.

The occasion was also a good opportunity to talk about other issues on the international agenda.

The visitor was accompanied by Senator Peete Peete, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Lesego Makgothi, as well as the Director for Europe and the Americas of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Itumeleng Rafutho; among other members of the delegation that accompanied him.

On the Cuban side, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez; the acting Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Ana Teresita González; the General Director of Bilateral Affairs of MINREX, Emilio Lozada; and other officials from the Cuban Foreign Ministry were present.
