Havana, May 1 (RHC) – The First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, Raúl Castro, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, presided over the May Day parade in Havana. Hundreds of thousands of Cubans marched through the iconic Plaza de la Revolución in Havana to celebrate International Workers' Day.
This year the date also celebrates the ongoing socio-economic reforms in the Caribbean island, which aim to make Cuban socialism a sustainable and prosperous model.
According to reports, the Cuban president arrived early to accompany the workers, intellectuals, youth, students, men and women who came to this historic square to celebrate together this fest of the world proletariat.
