Madrid, April 23 (RHC)-- The Party of the European Left -- El Partido de la Izquierda Europea (PIE) -- has called on the United States to immediately end the economic, financial and commercial blockade against Cuba, as it is an indecent policy in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The demand for an end to this siege of the island, which has lasted almost six decades, was made by the vice-president of the PIE, Maite Mola, in a video posted on her Twitter social network account.

"We are 35 European parties that have already declared for years, since practically its existence, our total and absolute rejection of the blockade against Cuba.  Who decides this?" the Spanish politician asked.

In the name of the European Left, as the PIE is also known, Mola demanded that the U.S. administration of Donald Trump and all his henchmen and fellow travelers finally end the blockade of the Caribbean island.

The Party of the European Left, which brings together groups of this ideological persuasion, is a member of the Confederal Group of the European United Left/Nordic Green Left in the European Parliament.
