Chinese leaders greet 62nd anniversary of the Cuban Revolution

China's President Xi Jinping

Beijing, January 6 (RHC)--China's President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang greeted Cuba on the 62nd anniversary of its Revolution, highlighting the achievements and successes in its development since 1959, diplomatic sources reported.

According to the Havana embassy, Xi conveyed his congratulations in messages addressed to Raul Castro, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party; and to his counterpart, Miguel Díaz-Canel.

He highlighted the links built between both nations and the mutually beneficial character that distinguishes bilateral cooperation.

Xi also reiterated the high value he accords to the development of ties. At the same time, he ratified the willingness to work together to deepen dialogue, strengthen exchanges, and expand cooperation in various areas.

For his part, Li Keqiang stressed in his letter to Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero the Cuban people's progress under the socialist system.

He emphasized the historical ties of friendship between the two nations and bilateral cooperation results after expressing his willingness to expand it further.

Both Xi and Li referred to Cuba and China's work in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and agreed that it is an excellent example of collaboration for the world.
