Cuba reports 893 new COVID-19 cases, two deaths

Havana, February 3, (RHC) The National Director of Epidemiology, Dr. Francisco Duran Garcia, reported 893 new cases of Covid-19 and two fatalities over the last 24 hours.

In his nationally televised daily briefing,  the expert said that for the detection of the new infections, the laboratories processed  17 076 samples.

With the latest numbers, Cuba accumulates 29 529 patients diagnosed with the disease and 220 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

12 858 people are hospitalized, 3 315 are suspected  of having the disease, 3 980 are under surveillance, and 5 563 are confirmed cases.

Havana province remains to report the most cases, 492, followed by Guantanamo with 138, and Santiago de Cuba with 82 cases.
