Havana, September 8 (RHC)-- Cuba expressed on Wednesday its solidarity with Mexico for the material damages and victims after the earthquakes and floods registered in that country.

Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez regretted on Twitter the devastation caused by the 7.1 magnitude earthquake with an epicenter in the state of Guerrero, as well as the heavy rains in several territories of the country.

'Sincere condolences to the families and relatives of the fatal victims,' added the Caribbean nation's top diplomat.

According to the latest reports from Mexico's Meteorological System, there were three earthquakes in Mexico, and not one as originally thought.

Mexican President, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, described September 7 as a sad day due to the flooding in the city of Hidalgo that caused 17 deaths in a hospital and the earthquake that was felt in 11 states.
