Geneva, Oct 1 (RHC) Cuba reaffirmed its commitment to the success of the work of the Advisory Committee, as an essential mechanism in the United Nations system for the promotion and protection of all human rights for all.

The delegation of the largest of the Antilles, speaking at the interactive dialogue with the Advisory Committee, 48th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland, expressed its appreciation for the preparation of the reports presented at this session.

Cubaminrex stressed that at this particularly complex stage, in the unprecedented context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Committee has continued its work, devoting time and effort to various issues, at the request of the Council.

It highlighted among these the issue of racial equity, with a valuable focus on systemic and structural racism, and on the multiple challenges to the effective implementation of the Durban Declaration and Program of Action.

The delegation urged states, and the Office of the High Commissioner, to continue supporting their work. (Cubasi)
