Cuba's Justice Minister Oscar Silvera.

Havana, October 11 (RHC)--Cuba is expanding procedures to allow its citizens to assess and express their opinions on the draft of a new Family Code.

Justice Minister Oscar Silvera launched on Monday a mobile phone application to gather opinions from the population.

In the presentation of the technological platform, the minister mentioned that since the publication of the draft on that agency's website, a new e-mail address had been set up for feedback: familias@minjus.gob.cu.

The Family Code app contains the complete draft bill and the Constitution of the Republic of Cuba. It allows users to write notes with their doubts and proposals, which can also be sent to that e-mail address and processed by specialists.

Yury Pérez, leader of the project and Full Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Havana, commented on local television that the tool arose from the alliance between the Ministry of Justice and the non-state sector business known as Lombao Estudios.
