Beijing, November 12 (RHC) China reiterated on Friday its full support to Cuba in its right to protect its national sovereignty, refuted any interference in its internal affairs, and demanded the United States to cease the economic, financial and commercial blockade.

Wang Wenbin, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told Prensa Latina that his government supports the island in its search for a path of development following its conditions and which will allow it to improve the welfare of its people.

China -he assured- opposes the U.S. habit of imposing sanctions and interfering in purely internal issues of other countries under the pretext of freedom, human rights, and democracy.

Wang urged Washington to handle bilateral ties with Havana following the United Nations Charter and global norms, listen to the international community, and immediately and completely lift the blockade.

This coercive policy is considered the main cause of the shortages and the obstacle to development in Cuba. Still, the United States keeps it in force and intensifies it despite the majority vote and for 29 consecutive years of the international community in favor of its immediate end.

With the statements of the Foreign Ministry spokesman, China joins several nations and organizations of the world that repudiate the subversive acts, demonstrations, and calls for intervention in the Caribbean nation.
