Havana, June 11 (RHC)--As part of the provisional implementation of the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement, the IV Session of the Cuba-European Union (EU) Cooperation Subcommittee began this Friday at the National Hotel of Cuba.

During the meeting,  progress on priority issues of the new Multiannual Indicative Program 2021-2027, a document that will be formally launched as part of the session, will be examined.

Ana Teresita González Fraga, the first vice-minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX) of Cuba, said that the exchange would help deepen bilateral cooperation in various areas of interest and allow the weaving of participation networks with prospects.

"We must advocate for a sustainable collaboration that lays the foundations for the welfare of new generations and provides effective solutions to the major challenges facing the development of our nations today," she said.

The dialogue will focus on EU cooperation with Latin America and the Caribbean between 2021 and 2024 and the design of new initiatives to strengthen triangular cooperation.

Jolita Butkeviciene, director for Latin America and the Caribbean of the EU's Directorate-General for International Partnerships, said that they would address the priorities of both parties to glimpse new opportunities for cooperation.
