Cuba and the European Union confirm the vitality of the political dialogue agreement

Havana, Dec 1 (RHC) The government of Cuba and the European Union -EU-, confirmed in Havana the vitality of the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement -ADPC- between our country and the community bloc, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said Wednesday.

According to the Cuban Foreign Minister, in a meeting with Javier Niño, deputy director general for the Americas of the European External Action Service, the parties reiterated their commitment to this guiding instrument of bilateral relations.

Javier Niño heads a delegation from the bloc participating in the holding of sectoral policy dialogues and the III Cuba-EU Joint Committee, coinciding with the fifth year of provisional implementation of the ADPC.

Cuba and the EU relaunched their relations in 2016 with the signing of the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement that put an end to 20 years of the so-called common position, which conditioned the relations of the community bloc to demands considered unacceptable by the island.

This agreement allowed intensifying cooperation and generated opportunities for exchange on issues of mutual interest, such as human rights, unilateral coercive measures, and sustainable development. (Source: Prensa Latina).
