Colombian president receives Cuban foreign minister in Bogota

Havana, August 8 (RHC)-- Colombian President Gustavo Petro received Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez at the Casa de Nariño on Monday.

On his Twitter account, the foreign minister said: "We confirm our willingness to strengthen the deep cultural and historical ties between our peoples.

After a private meeting with Petro, the head of Cuban diplomacy added that the island reiterated its unwavering commitment to contribute to peace in Colombia.

Rodriguez attended the inauguration of the first president of progressive forces in Colombia, held on Sunday in Bogota.

The foreign minister headed the Cuban delegation, including Deputy Foreign Minister Josefina Vidal Ferreiro, the director general for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Eugenio Martínez Enríquez, and the Cuban ambassador to Colombia, Javier Caamaño Cairo.
