Cuban president recognizes the work of the Cuban University

The educational institution opened its doors in November 1967

Havana, Nov 7 (RHC) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel recognized the contributions of the University of Camagüey.

 

In his Twitter profile, the Cuban head of state congratulated professors, students, and workers on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of that Academy, born with the Revolution.

 

The educational institution opened its doors in November 1967, offering multiple possibilities for improvement, and qualified personnel, it became the mainstay for the foundation of the university centers in the provinces of Las Tunas and Ciego de Avila.

 

Currently, the campus has an enrollment of more than 17,700 students and more than 2,000 teachers distributed in 53 careers and three branches and stands out for its results in the political, technological, communicational, scientific, research, sports, and cultural fields.

 

It also maintains some 164 agreements around the world, including more than thirty with counterpart universities in developed nations.

 

Díaz-Canel also congratulated the combatants of the Cuban Military Counterintelligence (CIM), on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of that body of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), whose members he described as faithful defenders of the Homeland and the Cuban Revolution. (Source: PL)
