Díaz-Canel Heads Meeting with Political Leaders of the Country

Havana, Dec 8 (RHC) The first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Miguel Díaz-Canel, headed on Thursday a meeting with territorial leaders of the organization in which they assessed its functioning, ideological work, and the country's economic situation.

 

The meeting precedes the celebration of the V Plenary Session of the Central Committee of the political organization, which will begin tomorrow, Friday, and it also evaluated the attention to the mass organizations and the Young Communist League.

 

As disclosed on Twitter by the PCC, the agenda included an analysis of the functioning of the organs of the People's Power, the improvement of the editorial and economic management system of the Cuban press, and the digital transformation processes.

 

On December 9 and 10, the communist organization will hold its 5th Plenary Session to evaluate the actions to face the country´s current situation.

 

The PCC is recognized by the 2019 Constitution as the guiding political organization of Cuban society, which held its VIII Congress in April 2021 (Source: Prensa Latina).
