Díaz-Canel presides over ceremony with heads of mission abroad

Havana, Dec 19 (RHC) Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of the Republic, heads today, in this capital, the swearing-in ceremony of the new chiefs of mission appointed to 27 nations in the five continents.

 

In the presence of members of the Political Bureau Esteban Lazo Hernández, president of the National Assembly of People's Power; Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, and Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the diplomats, accompanied by their families, signed the Code of Ethics.

 

The ceremony took place at the Palace of the Revolution and was attended by other leaders.

 

As part of the process, the 27 new Cuban heads of mission abroad today laid a wreath before the equestrian statue of the National Hero José Martí, in this capital.

 

In the 13 de Marzo Park, the diplomats met with their families in a ceremony attended by Carlos Fernández de Cossío, deputy minister of Foreign Affairs of the largest of the Antilles, along with other officials of that body.

 

Cuba maintains diplomatic relations with 197 states, orders, and international organizations and has more than 120 diplomatic missions abroad (Source: ACN).
