Santiago de Cuba, Jan 13 (RHC) The 18th International Symposium on Social Communication will once again test the ability to bring together experts from these disciplines in Cuba and other nations in pursuit of human understanding.

 

Leonel Ruiz, director of the Center for Applied Linguistics (CLA), explained this 18 edition became an incentive and commitment to sustain the event against economic problems, epidemics, and natural phenomena.

He thanked the collaboration and support of international and local institutions that have been decisive in these efforts, including universities in Austria, Germany, Italy, the Basque Country, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Chile.

Among the Cubans, he alluded to the Universidad de Oriente, the Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment, the Fernando Ortiz African Cultural Center, and the branch of the National Union of Writers and Artists.

The meeting will pay homage to the 95th anniversary of doctors Eloína Miyares and Vitelio Ruiz, founders of the CLA, and will take place in person and online, from the 23rd to the 27th, to discuss 58 papers from Cuba and other nations.

Luis Fernando Lara, professor, and researcher at the Colegio de México gave the inaugural conference on The construction of the Mexican Spanish dictionary: experience, while two experts from Austria and Chile will speak on current affairs in previous courses.

While Anton Nijholt, from the University of Twente, Enschede, the Netherlands, will be in charge of other academic presentations on the first day, with which he will endorse his invaluable support for decades to the Center for Applied Linguistics. (Prensa Latina)
