U.S. and Cayman Islands Return Irregular Migrants to Cuba

Havana, Jan 26 (RHC) According to the Ministry of the Interior (MININT),  U.S. Coast Guard returned a group of 69 irregular migrants through the port of Orozco, in Bahía Honda, Artemisa.

 

These people (61 men and eight women), had been involved in illegal departures from the country and were intercepted at sea by the U.S. Coast Guard.

 

According to the report published on the official website of the Ministry of the Interior, the Cayman Islands returned four Cubans last Saturday through the Antonio Maceo airport in Santiago de Cuba.

 

Thus, 1,716 people have been returned to Cuba in 18 actions so far this year.

 

Cuba ratifies its commitment to a regular, safe, and orderly migration and reiterates its alert on the dangerous and life-threatening conditions posed by illegal departures from the country by sea concludes the note from the Ministry of the Interior. (Source: ACN)
