Cuban ballet begins tour on International Dance Day

 

Havana, Apr 29 (RHC) - The Cuban National Ballet begins today a tour of Spain, where its general director Viengsay Valdés dedicates the first performance to all those who make this art one of the most important of humanity.

As part of the program for the Spanish city of Tarrassa, the prima ballerina greeted dancers, choreographers, teachers, rehearsers, musicians, directors, designers, make-up artists, researchers, and all those linked to the dance event on this occasion.

This tour of the National Ballet of Cuba through fourteen Spanish cities -Huelva, Seville, Granada, León, San Sebastián, Vitoria, Burgos, Santander, Segovia, Bilbao, Logroño and Pamplona, ​​among others-, will last until May 25.

The program is made up of: "Love Fear Loss", by Ricardo Amarante; "Three Preludes" by Ben Stevenson; "DSCH Concerto" by Alexei Ratmansky, and "Seventh Symphony" by Uwe Scholz. Said pieces will be starred by Valdés.

Valdés will be accompanied by the leading figures Anette Delgado, Sadaise Arencibia, Grettel Morejón, Dani Hernández and Yankiel Vázquez, as well as the main dancers Chavela Riera, Darío Hernández, Yasiel Hodelín and Ányelo Montero, seconded by soloists and the dance group.

Those attending this first presentation in Tarrassa will also have the opportunity to appreciate the photographic exhibition "National Ballet of Cuba", by the Spanish Josep Guindo and the Cuban Yailín Alfaro. (Source: Prensa Latina)
