Havana, July 8 (RHC)-- With the presence of Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, 28 new heads of diplomatic missions abroad were sworn in on Friday.

Representing the ambassadors, Ernesto Soberón Guzmán said that guided by the example of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz and Raúl Roa García, foreign minister of dignity, they will assume the leadership in different countries and before different international organizations.

Soberón Guzmán commented that they will be working in a complex context characterized by the increased hostility of the US government against the Revolution, whose maximum expression is in the intensification of the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade and its extraterritorial impact, as well as the inclusion of Cuba in the spurious list of State Sponsors of Terrorism and the incessant financial persecution.

He pointed out that after 64 years of the revolutionary triumph, and on the eve of celebrating the 70th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, U.S. imperialism persists in its failed attempt to erase from the face of the earth the example of the Antillean nation, while the revolutionary diplomacy, inspired by the people's spirit of victory, is determined to defeat every maneuver of the enemy.

During the fulfillment of our future responsibilities it will be necessary to resort to collective effort and intelligence, develop creative resistance and apply a science and innovation approach to the problems, as the country's top leadership called for.

He assured that their main purpose will be to guarantee the fulfillment of the objectives of the Foreign Policy, the defense of international law and the principles that govern it, and the success of the Cuban pro tempore presidency of the Group of 77 plus China (G-77 + China).

He stressed that they will contribute to the development of the national economy through the search for new investment opportunities, business and cooperation projects with different counterparts; as well as denounce, in an effective and permanent manner, the devastating effect of the blockade policy.

The new heads of diplomatic missions abroad will be protagonists of the battle in the communicational field, with the aim of showing the world the true reality of Cuba and will raise their voices against cultural colonization, pseudo-values and the attempt to subjugate the inhabitants of the largest of the Antilles so that they forget their roots, history and identity.

Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, said during the ceremony that the 28 new heads of missions will be bearers in various countries of the world of the legacy of Martí, Fidel and Roa, in the midst of a context where inequalities are increasing, economic coercion is used as an instrument of foreign policy and in which the extreme right forces are trying to gain ground to stop the advance of progressive movements.

According to Rodríguez Camejo, these representatives of revolutionary diplomacy will have to work with greater dedication and firmness in the face of the opportunities that the archipelago has in different areas.

We are sure that, with these tools, they will accompany the activism of the solidarity movement and will strive to promote and expand the relations of friendship and cooperation with the countries where they will be accredited, she said.

The deputy minister called on them to deepen ties with Cubans living abroad, to contribute to the success of the Cuban presidency of the G-77 + China and to help preserve and strengthen the unity of the countries of the South.

He affirmed that each of the new ambassadors will represent the culture and truth of the nation, based on the principles of anti-imperialism, honesty, discipline, altruism, humanism, solidarity, professionalism, collaboration, probity, responsibility, austerity and transparency.

Also presiding over the swearing-in ceremony were members of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the PCC Manuel Marrero Cruz and Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, who serve as Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, respectively.

On Friday, the heads of diplomatic missions abroad laid a wreath to José Martí, Cuba's National Hero, at the memorial bearing his name in the Plaza de la Revolución. (Source:ACN)
