Cyclonic Alarm Phase in Cuba's westernmost provinces due to Tropical Storm Idalia

Havana, August 28 (RHC) --The National General Staff of the Cuban Civil Defense (EMNDC) decreed the Cyclonic Alarm Phase for the provinces of Pinar del Rio, Artemisa and the special municipality Isla de la Juventud, as of 6:00 p.m. (6:00 p.m.) this Monday.

In its Information Note No. 3 on Tropical Storm (TT) Idalia, the EMNDC also decrees the Cyclonic Alert phase for the provinces of Havana and Mayabeque, also territories in the western part of the country.

The organism intensifies approaching Cape San Antonio, the western end of the island of Cuba, according to the Forecast Center of the Institute of Meteorology in its Tropical Cyclone Warning at 3:00 pm.

At that time, the center of the tropical storm was estimated at 65 km south-southwest of Cape San Antonio.
