Cuba sets clocks back one hour to restore standard time

Havana, Nov 5 (RHC) Cuba restored its standard time on Sunday when clocks were set back one hour nationwide at 1:00 am, local time, coinciding with the Northern Hemisphere countries.

This time change implies an increase in demand for electrical energy during rush hours, as lighting and cooking may coincide from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, the Granma newspaper reported.

For this reason, the National Office for the Control of the Rational Use of Energy calls to promote saving as a life practice at home and workplaces and shift household activities during the hours of maximum energy demand.

Time change in Cuba occurs in early March and late October or early November. PL)
