Cuba Hosts Scientific Convention on Engineering and Architecture

Havana, November 24 (RHC-PL) -– About 450 experts and researchers from 33 countries, together with 694 from Cuba, are participating in 17th Scientific Convention on Engineering and Architecture, which opened today in the Cuban capital, Havana.

The meeting, a major event on this sphere of knowledge taking place in Cuba, will run until November 28th at Havana's International Convention Center.

According to the organizing committee, about 15 separate scientific events conform this convention, including workshops, symposiums and presentations of groundbreaking developments in the areas of energy, environmental protection, new technologies, biotechnology and food.

More than 680 works by foreign experts plus another 760 by Cuban researchers make up the scientific and cultural spectrum of the convention. The scientific program also includes 55 keynote speeches by figures from 18 countries.

Organizers expect that this meeting serves to increase collaboration foreign and local professionals and their universities, research institutes, and companies.
