Havana, April 13 (RHC)—President Miguel Diaz Canel says that Cuba has not forgotten for a second the two doctors, Assel Herrera and Landy Rodríguez kidnapped in Kenya.

This April 12 marks a  year since their abduction while they were carrying out the noble mission of solidarity to cure the sick and save lives in African villages.

In his twitter account, Díaz-Canel wrote that he had called the relatives of both doctors and assured them that in spite of the current world situation, Cuba continues its efforts for their safe return.

The two Cuban health professionals were kidnapped by the Al Shabab group and taken to neighboring Somalia.

Ever since Cuba has kept systematic conversations with the governments of both countries, and their top leaders to assure that the doctors are alive and that all the steps are being taken for their release.
