Havana, August 5 (RHC)-- Cuban violinist, arranger, producer and band leader Joaquín Betancourt and his Joven Jazz Band are currently recording a new album entitled ‘Saldando deudas’ at Abdala Studios.

The new musical production is a tribute to emblematic pieces, ensembles and composers of Cuban popular music, including Los Reyes 73 and Orquesta Monumental, and composers Abdel Rasalp, Arturo Cleyton, Enrique Bonne and Pacho Alonso.

This way, ‘Saldando deudas’ will include new, contemporary versions of such iconic pieces as “Grandes amigos”, “Yo bailo de todo”, “Ando buscando un amor”, “Que me digan feo”, just to mention a few.

Guest artists include Alexander Abreu, Mandy Cantero, Ricardo Amaray, Norisley

Valladares ‘El Noro’, Emilio Frías ‘El Niño’, Orlando Valle ‘Maracas’, and the Cuban Sax Quintet, Rolando Luna, Osain del Monte, Yaroldys Abreu, Amaury Pérez, Eduardo Sandoval, and Samuel Formell, among many others.

‘Each artist contributed their unique, personal style, significantly enriching the final work, said Joaquín Betancourt and stressed that the new album will be accompanied by several music videos.

‘Saldando deudas’ will be released later this year.
