Cuba, guest country of honor of music festival in Germany

Havana, July 4 (RHC)-- Cuba will be present at the International Music Festival of Rudolstadt, Germany, set for July 6th through the 9th. Singer-songwriter Tony Ávila will be part of the Cuban delegation.

The author of hit tunes like ‘Mi casa.cu’ and ‘Timbiriche’ resorted to social media to express satisfaction with this new opportunity to take his art and Cuban culture to world stages.

The website of the German festival of music announced Cuba as guest country of honor. Besides the live concerts by Cuban popular bands, the program includes a symposium on Cuban rhythms and a photographic exhibition, featuring works by renowned established and young Cuban artists alike.

Other Cuban musicians on the lineup include Eliades Ochoa and his band Patria, who will perform the opening concert on July 6th, also rapper Telmary and Habanasana, Cimafunk, Los muñequitos de Matanzas, Yarima Blanco y su son, among others.

The International Music Festival of Rudolstadt, in Germany is considered the largest and most prestigious event of its kind in Europe.
