Spain's Cultural Week in Cuba to begin October 4th

Havana, September 27 (RHC)-- The Cultural Week of Spain in Cuba will take place in Havana from October 4 to 12, with the aim of promoting the best of the Iberian nation's art, according to an announcement by the Spanish Embassy in Havana.  And, as part of the varied program of the event, a new edition of the Spanish Film Festival will be presented.

The event will be attended by several Hispanic artists, such as actor Álex Brendemühl, playwright and filmmaker Cesc Gay, film director and Lightbox Academy director Enrique Gato and the director of Programming of the Cinema Jove International Festival of Valencia, Laura Pérez.

Also traveling to this city will be the flamenco singer Argentina, Latin Grammy nominee in 2013 and 2015, who will offer two concerts, at the Havana Amphitheater and at the Martí Theater.

Spain's revelry in Cuba will be attended by playwright Nieves Rodriguez, pianist Javier Negrin, the Harmonia del Parnas group, visual artists Angel Marcos and Carlos Alvarez Las Heras, guitarist David Antigüedad, photographer Hector Garrido and comic artists Roberto Burgazzoli and Alexander Izquierdo.

From Cuba will share the party Argos Teatro, the Guillermo Tomás Conservatory String Ensemble, Jazz Vilá Projects, the orchestra PuberTrasT Ensamble de Guitarras.

National dance groups Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba, Mi Compañía, Acosta Danza, Compañía Flamenca ECOS, Ballet Español de Cuba, among others, will participate.

The closing of the Spanish Cultural Week in Cuba will coincide with the National Day of the Iberian nation on October 12.

The celebration is also sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of Cuba, the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry, the Office of the Historian of Havana, the National Museum of Fine Arts, along with other associations of the island. (Source: Prensa Latina).
