Clowncierto show, by Teatro Tuyo

Havana, Jan 15 (RHC) The Villanueva Day for the 155th anniversary of Cuban theatre continues today in this capital with the show Clowncierto, by Teatro Tuyo, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, a play directed by Ernesto Parra.

This staging will take place in the gardens of the Havana headquarters of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba and will be accompanied by the colloquium "How is a road made?" and the presentation of the book Clownteoregresivo.

The Jornada Villanueva 2024 began on 11 January and will run until 28 January, with a wide-ranging programme of activities, including the colloquium Theatres and Cuba, today, at Nave Oficio de Isla, in Old Havana.

There was also a talk entitled From empiricism to academia, with the participation of professors from the clown speciality of the National Theatre School.

On 22 January 1869, the events of the Villanueva Theatre took place, a bloody event perpetrated by Cubans in the service of the Spanish colonialist forces against supporters of the Caribbean island's independence, the date of which was chosen as a theatrical ephemeris. (Source: Prensa Latina)
