Recovery of postponed games in National Baseball Series to begin

Havana, May 13 (RHC)-- With five teams qualified for the postseason and a trio waiting, the recovery phase of postponed games in the qualifying phase of the 61st National Baseball Series will begin this Friday.

This Friday, on a day that will include two games, the already qualified team of Las Tunas (42-31), second place in the competition, will receive at its Julio Antonio Mella stadium the team of Mayabeque (39-31), which is in fourth place but still without a place in the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the out-of-competition Artemisa team will host Industriales, sixth place with a record of 39 wins and 33 losses, which must win today to avoid complications in its participation in the postseason. This duel will be played at 26 de Julio Park.

Below are the dates of the remaining nine postponed games:

Day 14: Las Tunas-Mayabeque.

Day 15: Villa Clara-Artemisa

Day 16: Mayabeque-La Isla and Villa Clara-Artemisa

Day 17: Villa Clara-Artemisa and Mayabeque-La Isla

Day 19: Industriales-Artemisa and Villa Clara-Mayabeque

Day 20: Industriales-Artemisa

So far, the leader of the standings is Sancti Spíritus (45-30), followed by Las Tunas (42-31), the monarch exponent Granma (43-32), Mayabeque (39-31), Ciego de Ávila (41-32), Industriales (39-33), Matanzas (40-35) and Pinar del Río (40-35).

Gallos espirituanos, Leñadores tuneros, Alazanes granmenses, Tigres avileños and Cocodrilos matanceros, already have tickets for the play off round.
