Peloteritos from Santa Clara in Little League Tournament

Havana, July 7 (JIT) - In the second game of the day for Cuba in the Caribbean Little League Baseball tournament, the Santa Clara U-12 team defeated the difficult Dominican Republic A and with two victories practically assured a place in the semifinals.

The Cubans defeated the Dominicans by a score of 4 to 2 in a game that lived up to the expectations of the rivalry, with solid pitching by starter Cristian Aguilera and quality relief by Erick Fernandez.

On the same day of the tournament, based in Punta Cana, the Cubans had beaten Curaçao B 2x1 with a home run by their fourth hitter William Alvarez, so another win in Thursday's doubleheader would assure them the top of the group.
