Havana, March 4 (RHC)-- Erislandy Alvarez coined in less than two minutes of the opening round, his second consecutive victory in professional boxing, from the ranks of Domadores de Cuba.

The outcome took place in the Venezuelan city of Maracaibo at the expense of local Omar "Nicolino" Echenique, who stepped onto the boxing ring with five wins, three knockdowns and a draw.

A barrage of punches, for which his opponent found no answer, defined the fight (TKO) at 1:21 minutes of the first of the eight-act light-heavyweight bout.

"Opportunities like these must be taken advantage of and he knew how to do it", commented to the publication JIT, Gerardo Saldívar, president of the Golden Ring company, which manages the work of the franchise of the Island, now with 18 smiles and one slip.

The next presentation of the Cubans will be this Sunday in charge of the double Olympic champion Roniel Iglesias, called to defeat the host Mauricio Gutierrez (7-0) in the Mexican city of Tijuana.

Also called to eight chapters in the 147-pound category, it will be the third such duel for the 2009 champion, who will expose his unbeaten record against a man who accumulates five knockouts.
