Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek won her third straight Roland Garros Open crown.

Havana, June 10 (RHC) Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek won her third straight Roland Garros Open crown today, the second Grand Slam of the season.

The world number one successfully defended her throne by beating Czech Karolina Muchova (43rd in the world ranking) 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 on the Philippe Chatrier court, where she lost her first set of the tournament.

Swiatek thus becomes the first player to repeat her title three times since Belgian Justine Henin did it 16 years ago, in 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007.

The 22-year-old Pole has four Grand Slam tournaments to her name, as she also won the U.S. Open in 2022.

For her part, Muchova leaves Paris as the great revelation of the tournament and proved that her ranking does not reflect the reality of her tennis, typical of a Top-10 player.
