Havana, February 21 (JIT) - The Spanish Marisol Casado, president of World Triathlon, will give a lecture at the Manuel Fajardo University of Physical Culture and Sport Sciences (UCCFD) on February 23rd.

Casado, who has also been a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) since 2010, will address issues related to the promotion of gender equality and diversity in sport.

From that position, Casado promoted parity between men and women in awards, distances and media recognition.

The UCCFD Main Hall will host Casado and her audience. She will be accompanied by the first Latin American woman to win an Olympic gold medal, María Caridad Colón, also an IOC member.

Casado will arrive in the Cuban capital on Thursday to also give prestige to the VIII Havana Triathlon 2024, which will take place on 25 February.

This is the fourth time that the former triathlete will visit Havana, a city that she is passionate about, according to what she has told the press.
