Havana, July 9 (RHC) - The outlook for the La Lisa team, which represents Cuba in the Caribbean Little League Baseball eliminatory tournament in Curaçao, is now difficult as it lost for the second consecutive time.

The Arubans won 5x3, with six hits and committed three errors, according to information from Roberto González Bonachea, head of the U-12 category in the Cuban Baseball-Softball Federation.

But the pupils of the capital's mentor Yoel Flores could not take advantage of those rival errors, because they barely connected three hits. Reliever Jayderik Weder won the game and Cuban starter Legnier Govantes took the setback.

The Cuban team had started the tournament with a 5x6 defeat against the Pariba club of Curaçao.

Now, with this second loss, their situation in the group has become more complicated, with a view to advancing to the semifinal phase.

However, they still have one more game to play against the Dominican Republic, and it is also necessary to follow closely to see what happens between the host Pariba and the Dominicans.

In this Caribbean event there are eight teams divided into two groups, in search of the only place for the Little League World Series, scheduled for next August in Pennsylvania, United States.

The other group includes Pabou, the second representative of host Curaçao, St. Maarten, Bonaire, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

According to the schedule, the top two teams in each section will advance to the cross-stage semifinals. The winners of these matches will compete for the title and a direct berth in the World Series, while the losers will play for third place.
