Havana, July 23 (RHC) - The host team from Santiago de Cuba won the gold medal in the recently concluded Baseball5 tournament, part of the 2025 National School Games.

The Santiago team finished undefeated in seven games, and many of their victories showed almost total dominance of the matches, in a tournament played under a round-robin system.

Granma came in second place, with a 5-2 record, as did Ciego de Ávila. But Granma won the head-to-head match between the two teams.

According to Eros Bernal, technical director of this modality in Cuba, Santiago's Néstor Andrés Massó and his teammate Rachel de la Caridad Medina won the Golpeo de Oro (Golden Bat) and Most Valuable Player trophies in the men's and women's divisions, respectively.

The equally indomitable Ohuryn Bryan Carcacés was chosen as Golden Hand in the men's category.

In the women's category, the prize went to Dalianny Domínguez from Granma, who broke the Santiago team's total dominance.
